Adrian Roach is one of our Parts Interpreters - specialising in parts for Mitsubishi and Volkswagen needing smash repairs. Adrian works with Newcastle panel beaters to get cars back on the road.
But in his spare time, Adrian works as a mechanic in Australian and international motorsport.
"About ten years ago, one of my cousin's had worked as a Supercars sponsorship manager and started his own Supercars team based in Newcastle. He asked me to get involved, which I did, but I knew nothing about it at the time!"
"He put together a great group of guys including a great team manager, brilliant logistics people and mechanics, and started his own team."
"I worked for a few other teams for about a decade and was then picked up by the Ferrari team in the Australian GT Championship and the Le Mans team in Asia."
The highlight of Adrian's motorsport career so far?
"Winning the Bathurst 12-hour race in 2014. We had Mika Salo - a former Formula One driver, Craig Lowndes, John Bowe and Pete Edwards as our four drivers. It was unbelievable."
And the worst? Motorsport is full of 'worst' experiences! In 2015, we returned to defend our crown, but the car was a write-off within the first 15 minutes in the first practise session! But that's motorsport. We've also once raced for 11 and a half hours and got wiped out 20 minutes before the finish.

So what are the cars that Adrian loves?
"My grandfather was a Ford guy, my Dad was a Ford guy, so I was born a Ford guy. I got brought home from the hospital in an XY Falcon. It was all I ever wanted so I bought one as soon as I could afford it. It was a bit of a fixer-upper. Unregistered, my parents went through the roof!"
We sent Adrian out in the stunning Nissan 370z with professional driver, Adam Morris.
The beautiful Z car
